Parksville Excavating runs 4 lines of work across the Oceanside coast — land clearing and site prep, foundation digs and backfill, drainage and perimeter drains, and driveways and parking pads. We quote each from a walk of your property rather than from a plan, because Vashon till and Haslam shale price differently from sand.
Most jobs are some combination of the four. A new build usually needs all of them in sequence; a drainage problem on an existing house needs one.
How the four fit together
On a new build we keep the order fixed — we clear and strip the lot, dig and backfill the foundation, run the drainage in against the wall before the backfill, and build the drive last so the trucks that come before it don't chew it up.
On an existing property the work is usually standalone. A drive that has failed, a perimeter drain that has stopped running, a shop pad that needs cutting into a slope — we price each on its own.

- Land clearing and site prepBrush, stump and topsoil removal, building envelope stripped to grade, and a compacted pad ready for forms. Permit position checked before the machine arrives.
- Foundation digs and backfillFootings dug to the depth on the drawings, benched where the walls are deep, then backfilled and compacted in lifts once the wall has cured.
- Drainage and perimeter drainsPerimeter drain, filter cloth and drain rock at the footing, tied into a sump or a daylight outlet that keeps running through the wet months.
- Driveways and parking padsSubgrade cut, geotextile where the ground is soft, then pit run and crush placed in compacted lifts to a crown that sheds water.
